Children's Education

Baby & Toddler Care

Childcare for infants through three-year-olds is offered on Sunday mornings from 9:15 - 11:45 a.m. during the program year, and 9:15 - 10:45 during July and August.  We have a staff care-giver, as well as volunteers in our nursery.  Everyone who works with children and youth are trained and screened in accordance with our Child Protection Policy.

Sunday Morning Education Classes for children and youth on Sunday mornings have a relationship based emphasis. We offer a "One Room Schoolhouse" style of classes with Pre-Kindergarten through Fifth Grade with three to four adults as teachers.

The children gather as a class and sing for 15 minutes with Bonnie Arnold, Director of Handbells and Children's Music.  The children also sing in worship about 8 times a year. After singing, one of our elders tells the children a Bible Story which children report as their favorite time of class as they love their storyteller.  A variety of activities are used as follow up to the story by the teachers which range from building the story with blocks to an art project.  We strive for an interactive atmosphere in which the children and youth know that they are beloved children of God. We also use hands on mission projects to engage the children and their families in a response to God's love by taking action in local, national, and international mission projects.

Youth in Middle and High School have a separate space to gather with their two teachers who lead a Bible or current events/topics/youth issues discussion over a snack on Sunday Mornings.  Hands on mission related projects also take place during the 9:30 to 10:15 am time frame.  Additional youth activities are scheduled on a monthly basis, with Confirmation Class and a week long mission trip in the summer as well.
