Mother’s Day Out is a non-profit, cooperative play school program designed to give quality care to infants and toddlers while their parents are out. In operation for over 30 years, this is a great first-step program for your child or children. MDO is less structured than a regular preschool, but we do offer music, play, story time, art, snack, as well as fine and gross motor activities. We accept children aged 15 months to 4 years old. There are two classrooms: one for children aged 12 months to 2 1/2 years and one for 2 1/2 to 4 years. The program runs from September thru June, Monday - Friday mornings from 9:15 until noon, and follows the calendar of the Orchard Park School District. Children can be registered for 1, 2, or 3 days per week. The cost of the program is dependent on the number of days registered, plus the number of children enrolled.
Since Mother’s Day Out is a Cooperative child care organization we rely on parent participation to keep the program affordable to all. Parents participate, along with a teacher, in the care of children. With the help of our parent aides, our classrooms maintain a ratio of one adult to five children. Depending on the number of days your child or children attend, you will be required to co-op throughout the year. Our co-op calendar comes out four times a school year and we do our best to accommodate all parent requests. If you prefer not to co-op, we provide a list of parents who are willing to “sub” for you for a small fee. If you have any further questions, please contact our Membership Chair, Jillian Cross by email at: opmdoregister@gmail.com.
